Less than a day after Governor Carrow promised every resident $10,000, the State says payments started on Monday and are being made automatically. In the motel car parks, phones are already buzzing.
With Los Santos closed and engineers warning it will take at least a year to rebuild, the city’s businesses are not waiting. Florists, diners, bars and nightclubs are opening their doors on Paleto Boulevard, and the town that everybody drove through is suddenly the place to be.
The officer known only as Ethel, suspended by the LSPD after protecting civilians during the unrest and now with the Sheriff’s Department, is feeding Paleto’s evacuees for free. The hot dog stand sells burgers. Nobody is complaining.
